James Patterson is one of the bestselling authors in the world today. Two James Patterson books have been turned into Hollywood movies. His writing style makes for great thriller stories.
James Patterson won the award for best first mystery novel in 1976 for his book The Thomas Berryman Number. Since then he has gained most of his renown for a series of books starring Alex Cross as a detective/psychologist who is called in to go after the deeply psychotic bad guys. These are the most famous and successful of the James Patterson books.
Two of these James Patterson books have been turned into movies starring Morgan Freeman as Alex Cross. In 1997 Paramount pictures made Kiss the Girls, co-starring Ashley Judd. In 2001 Lee Tamahori directed Freeman in Along Came a Spider which was a prequel to the earlier film.
